MIKE BROWN, MMA FIGHTER

“Brown retains belt by Unanimous Decision
as Absolute Fighting Champion on October 30, 2004”

Mike Brown’s friend Bruce Canton, was familiar with my work Earlier this
year he had called me and we had a lengthy conversation. He contacted me again the beginning of October about using my work to mentally condition Mike Brown for his upcoming fight with Renato Tavares. Mike had lost the last two fights and his title was on the line. Prior to these losses Mike had a string of6 successful wins.

Bruce Canton, himself, was a 2002 Pan-American Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion, 2 gold medals in purple belt seniors heavyweight and absolute divisions. He has competed in some 14 tournaments and has placed in the top three in all of them except for his first one.

I contacted Mike and we worked for an hour initially. He presented me
with every issue he found himself up against from the last two
competitions that he had lost. We worked on his becoming relaxed,
confident and having major endurance as fatigue was his Invisible
Opponent.

I emailed Mike later that same day:

Mike: Good working with you today. I forgot to ask you where your October
30th fight will take place. Who is yon opponent? I look forward to continue
helping you. Dr. Crowley

Thanks so much Dr. Crowley.

I really appreciate your help yesterday.  I’m hoping that I can overcome these demons that are interrupting my performance. I am much better than what I’ve shown. My next fight is in Florida against a very good grappler named Renato Tavares.

Hey Dr. Crowley,

I did see an improvement for a couple of days. In the last couple of days I
seemed to tire a little quicker than I should have. I’m so unsure of why this is.  Thanks so much, Mike Brown

October 18, 2004: From Dr. Crowley

I worked with Mike again targeting his fatigue issues he referred to as
“running out of gas” that in the past had contributed to his not
manifesting his best fighting skills. (Fatigue has been an issue dating
back to high school.) As a result of the fatigue issue he was only to able to respond to his opponent defensively rather than his being on the attack. We worked together for about 45 minutes again using my
Mental Mechanics approach.

I just ‘wanted to ‘write and say I had a great sparring session yesterday. I just kept thinking positive words: ENDURANCE-ENDURANCE-
ENDURANCE. I felt great. I was boxing with a very experienced boxer.

(much better than I) and we went 4 rounds. I was feeling great!!

When our boxing coach asked if we wanted to do more, I wanted
more and my sparring partner started to make excuses why he couldn’t go any longer. Thanks Doc!!!

My endurance felt great. I was very relaxed and confident. I will update you
again and I’d like to talk again next week. My fight is next Saturday the 30th.

Thanks so much, Mike Brown

We worked for fifteen minutes dealing with one more issue, the
typical “What ifs... “  that we all are plagued by from time to time.

October 31. 2004:

Dr. Crowley,

First off, thanks so much for all your help. You somehow made a major change in my ability to perform under pressure.

I felt better than ever before (Much Better). I have never gone into Round Two with a clear head and without fatigue on my mind

In this fight I walked to my corner at the end of Round One, sat down and said “Wow! I feel good.” I was so relaxed. It felt like another day in the gym. I mean I haven’t felt this relaxed in a long, long time. I went 3 rounds (5 minutes each) and I felt I could have gone another 10 rounds. I was thinking very clearly. It wasn’t like the normal chaotic feeling of many of my past fights. I was loose, clear headed, and knew exactly what I was doing the entire fight. Thank you so much, You’re the MAN Dr. Crowley!!!

I will call you today and tell you more on the phone. Is there a good time to call?? Thanks again, Mike Brown

Hello Dr. Crowley

I’m starting to pick up my training intensity and so far everything has been great. I think I now have a better handle on when to back off when training. Instead of going too hard for too long I ease up a bit. This prevents me from
hitting that wall. I want to thank you so much for all your help.

TESTIMONIAL

“For many years I’ve suffered from some sort of ‘performance anxiety,’ for the lack of a better description. that somehow would drain my stamina. I could never pin down exactly what it was. My problem dates back to high school wrestling. It followed me to college wrestling and then into my career as a Professional MMA Fighter.

For years I’ve been a great practice competitor. I’ve always seemed to do very well when it didn’t matter, but for some reason I always under-performed in the real competition. No matter how great of shape I was in I would become fatigued quickly. After years of battling with this problem I was referred to Dr. Crowley by a friend.

After talking with Dr. Crowley he made it clear to me what the problem was and how to correct it. It was an easy process. We worked together for three sessions. I felt great and was performing much better in practice and while sparring. However, that was not the problem. My concern was the actual fight.

Having lost my previous two fights my championship title was on the line against Renato Tavares. In this first fight back after working with Dr. Crowley I felt incredible! I felt much better than ever before. I was loose, relaxed, and could see everything very clearly. It was my first time ever feeling like this.  My performance anxiety and fatigue were replaced with such confidence and unlimited endurance that I could have gone another ten rounds. Dr. Crowley helped me finally reach my potential.  I beat Tavares with a unanimous decision,

Thank you Dr. Crowley.
