Steve Blass’ wild pitches and inability to find the strike zone ended his career in 1974. Yet in 1998 Steve Blass and the Yips Doc, Dr. Richard Crowley, worked together on his wild pitches for one hour and Steve Blass went to the mound and immediately threw his first strike in quarter of a century. Blass later pitched an entire game at Pirates Fantasy Camp without a wild pitch!
Mark Wohlers fell from grace mightily with one wild pitch after another, and without the help of Dr. Crowly would have joined Steve Blass in losing his career. Fortunately in 1999 the Cincinnati Reds flew Dr. Crowley to work with wohlers and three days later, Wohlers wild pitches were replaced with strikes.
In 1983 Los Angeles Dodger Steve Sax had lost complete control throwing to first base until Sax worked with Dr. Crowley. After one session, Sax was throwing bullets to first base.
