“I’m really thankful and I appreciate the help that you gave me in just
two hours over the phone with the steps you walked me through. It
made a huge difference in my performance. I can’t thank you enough.”

“Dr. Richard Crowley, to tell you the truth my real problem, or my biggest
problem that I see is the one that is affecting my performance is not being able to bounce back after an error, or after a walk. or just some kind of failure in the game. It’s also the pressure of wanting to do good and the pressure of the people who want me to do good.

You know, I was thinking the other day what maybe caused this problem. It
was after my sophomore year when it really started. I was able to control it for the first half of the season of my junior year, but then after spring break, it just hit me again.  Even though I finished the year with the best ERA of the team, 1.96, I had too many walks, and too many in a row.

What might have caused the problem was that at the end of my sophomore
year was when we were eliminated in the regional semi-finals. I came in to
relieve. There was one out Man on first. And there were a lot of people (I’m
not gonna lie to you, I was pretty nervous) and we were winning 5-3. So, I
walked the first batter. Then I walked the second, and I was taken out.
I had just come from throwing a no hitter in Tennessee on a tournament of
spring break that year and it was my second time that I was going to pitch in varsity Then we lost and that kind of stuck with me. . . that chance that we could have won the game. Well, this is my thing. I’ll be waiting for your
response Dr. Crowley

Take care.” Hector

February 1st and 15th: Dr. Crowley worked with me for about two
hours on the phone. We went after my problem of being unable to
bounce back after a mistake; angry and disappointed with myself when I walk a hitter; pressure to do good; and how my confidence was effected following being removed from a varsity game after giving up two walks.

As we finished the first session of Dr. Crowley’s work using my
imagination to make me feel better I wanted to play right away. I told
him “I feel like I can do anything now and that I feel like a Super

Hero.”

“Hi, How are you doing Dr. I got good news. The work I did with you
worked. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before on Thursday because I was schedule to pitch on Wednesday but it got moved up to Saturday, and I did too.

Well, it went great. It was a big improvement. I threw 2 wallcs, but I was able to bounce back and make quality pitches to get out the innings. I threw three innings with no hits. They scored three runs on me because of errors from the infield. And once again I was able to keep my focus and keep doing good. So I’m very happy with the results. (By the way the walks weren’t consecutives; they were with good pitches that the batter was able to lay off).

Now, the velocity was good, but I’m kind of concerned with it because before I used to top 90mph and consistent 86-89mph and now I topped 87mph and consistent 85-86mph. I was talking to my dad and he thinks that it might just be the mechanics because before I had some bad throwing mechanics and now I’m throwing good, but I don’t know the speed is not like before. So he said that my body has to get use to the new mechanics and then it will start to adjust to the top speed as before. So what do you think? Well Dr. Take care. Will be in touch. Bye,” Hector

“Hi. It’s me again I just wanted to tell you that I’m really thankful and I
appreciate the help that you gave me in just two hours over the phone with the steps you walked me through. It made a huge difference in my performance. I can’t thank you enough.

My season has been great even though my team is not that good. Our record is 8-9 but our pitching staff is great. We have 4 no hitters in the year and two of them are mine. I don’t mean to brag but I’m doing really good compare to the years before. My first no hitter was at out opening home game against a team not that good. I admit it. But my second one was the ‘bomb!” We (Coral Park) won 1-0 against a team that has a pretty good ranking in the state and in the nation I think. It’s Florida Christian. It was in the Mizuno Classic of Spring break tournament and I was named for the All-Tournament team because of that. So I’m doing good. Also, I was just wondering if you had contacts with scouts to see if you could help me find people to take a look at me and see if can go play ball for a college or an Organization. I’ve had offers, but just to get me a little more exposure to more people. You know. So that was all. lol

Thanks again. Will be in touch. Bye.” Hector

“Hi Dr. To answer your question about the Mizuno Classic, it’s just a spring
break tournament we always have here in Miami where top ten always join.

You asked about my velocity too. I don’t really know where I’m at but for sure it’s been back. I’ve been blowing guys away and it feels good. I’ll send you a picture as soon as I get one ok. My game came back and has been there so far.  Well we’ll be in touch!!”

Bye, Hector
